MONA MADGE PHILLIPS MARTIEN

NATCHEZ-Services for Mona Madge Phillips Martien, 84, of Natchez, who died Saturday May 19, 2012 at Adams County Nursing Home, will be 2 p.m. Monday May 21, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Natchez with Dr. Doug Broome officiating.

Mrs. Martien was born June 14, 1927 at Jackson, MS the daughter of Earnest Phillips and Eva Miller Phillips. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Natchez. Mrs. Martien was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents, and two siblings, Doris Rasberry and Virginia Cook. Special thanks to the staff at Adams County Nursing Center, where she resided for five years. Mrs. Martien considered them her second family.

Survivors, three daughters, Rebecca Mayer and husband, Bill of Vidalia, Deborah Fisher and husband, Terry of Natchez and Nancy Parker of Fayette, Alabama; one brother, E. C. Phillips of Longview, Texas: six grandchildren, Ashley Wiggins, J. J. Rabb, Brigette Mayer, Brandon Mayer, Victoria Yearta, and Nicole Burton; 13 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
